Sensei Yoshinobu Ohta (1959 - ), 7th Dan, is the Chief Instructor of JKA England. He graduated from Takushoku University in Japan, a renowned Karate club where many top JKA sensei's such as Masters Nakayama and Enoeda had previously graduated from. After leaving university, Sensei Ohta continued his karate training at the JKA instructors classes in Japan where he trained with respected names such as Sensei’s Shoji, Asai, Abe, Tanaka, Osaka, Kagawa, and Yahara. 
 
In 1982, Sensei Enoeda invited Sensei Ohta to England to become his assistant. For twenty years, Ohta Sensei worked alongside Keinosuke Enoeda, 9th Dan, and built a reputation as a popular and technically brilliant senior instructor. Sensei Ohta gained an international reputation for being one of the most technically skilled JKA instructors. After the death of Sensei Enoeda in 2003, Sensei Ohta was appointed as the chief instructor of JKA England and has since led the association from strength to strength. 
 
In April 2010, Sensei Ohta passed the examination for 7th Dan in front of the JKA's most senior technical committee at the JKA HQ Honbu Dojo in Tokyo. Sensei Ohta teaches at national courses and abroad, as well as at his own clubs located in Covent Garden and Chelsea.
