TSKC - Summer Course
The first Tairyoku Shotokan Karate Club Summer School got underway on Monday 2nd August 2010 and took place at Honbu. Sensei Wellington had just returned from holiday on the Saturday and was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly Sensei Johnson had supervised the preparations for the course commencing on the Monday.

South West Course and Grading with Sensei Ohta

An enjoyable and extremely informative training course given by Sensei Ohta, with the emphasis throughout being placed on hip positioning and correct distancing. Sensei did say we should try hard to remember these points and incorporate them into our regular Dojo practice.

York Training and Kyu-Grading
The Summer karate course and kyu grading examinations for both the York Karate Academy and the York Kenshinkan karate club were conducted by Sensei Yoshinobu Ohta 7th Dan JKA. We had guests from TSKC, Harpenden SKC, Shimeijurasan JKAE clubs, as well as guests from York, Selby & Haxby IJKA clubs and even Sensei Kenny Button 6th Dan with students from his Hara Shotokan Association.

Newark Shotokan Training and Kyu-Grading
A training and grading course was held at the Grove Leisure Centre, Balderton, Newark, on Sunday 11th July conducted by Sensei Ohta (7th dan, Chief Instructor, Japan Karate Association England).

TSKC - KYU Grading
A week after returning from the Annual TSKC camping event which took place in the Cotswolds, the grading was soon upon us. Reverting to a format we had about four years ago, the first course was for the Senior grades, in this instance Black, Brown and all Purple belts, which started at 9am. That was a bit of a shock in itself. Slowly but surely, the students turned up and got ready for their course with the Grading Examiner, Sensei Adel Ismail 5th DAN.

TSKC - KYU Grading
The first KYU grading of 2010 for TSKC. The format was similar to the last grading as this appeared to work quite well. However, what wasn't expected were the numbers of attendees to exceed 122. Congratulations to all who graded.
