Summer International Course
& Dan Grading
It was an honour to have JKA Honbu instructors, Sensei Ueki (8th Dan), Sensei Kawawada (7th Dan) and Sensei Imamura (7th Dan) instruct at this year’ Guildford course with JKA-England’ own Sensei Ohta (7th Dan) for a hugely popular summer course.

Boroughbridge Course
& Dan Grading
The north region hosted its all-grade kata course at Boroughbridge Sports Centre on the 18th July.
It started at 11 - 2, followed by grading at 3 pm. The course was run by Sensei Ohta who was assisted by Sensei Gary Stewart and Sensei Roy Tomlin.

LIVE KARATE
Do you wish you could be in Tokyo to watch the 53rd Japan National Karate Championships? Well now you can do the next best thing. For the first time ever the competition is being broadcast live from the Budokan via the internet. It starts at 4am (GMT) on Sunday 27th June so have an early night on Saturday and put the kettle on for a strong cup of coffee

Spring International Course
& Dan Grading
Volcanic ash couldn’t stop people from attending this year’s spring course which was filled to the brim with students and instructors from all over the world to attend this year’s spring course hosted by JKA-England at the Guildford Spectrum Leisure Centre. We had the pleasure of some of the greatest JKA instructors in attendance – Sensei Mori (8th Dan), Sensei Osaka (8th Dan); Sensei Naka (6th Dan) and Sensei Ohta (7th Dan).

European Championships
Bochum – Germany
Huge success for JKA-England this weekend at the JKA European Championships held in Bochum, Germany with a haul of 2 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronze leaving England 4th in the medal league table out of the 23 countries that competed.

Two new JKA Karate Clubs in Ickenham and Harefield
Chief Instructor Gary Stewart 5th Dan JKA, member of JKAE Technical Committee and Grading Examiner is starting two new clubs for all grades and brown and black belts. Any JKA member who wishes to train in the area will receive a warm welcome.

Qualifying individuals who attend every JKAE All Grades Course during 2010 will be awarded a specially commissioned certificate plus a year's FREE membership to JKA England.
